- Cheap doesn't have to mean Poor Performance. I agree you have to be
- careful with your purchase. Some $99 28.8's require software drivers
- in lieu of missing hardware. But most recently I purchased a $99
- internal 28.8 modem from ISN (it's the Best Data 2834F). I've had it
- for about 2 months and use it daily - no disconnects, 95+% connects to
- my ISP at 28.8 (AT&T Worldnet), 3100+ cps downloads from a local BBS
- on zipped files, can send and receive faxes at 14.4. and works equally
- well in DOS or Windows. I'm pleased as can be!
